Carnival Fun

Okay, so I know I haven't posted any new posts in a long time (MOM) and I figured it's due time. :)

We are doing well...the kids are still getting along well, even though they spend all day every day together. So no complaints there. Allen's still working for OSU Transit driving busses and he's getting a few more hours now than before. Hopefully that will help us out. I just recently acquired part-time gig working catered events through the Rancher's Club restaurant (http://www.theranchersclub.com) on campus. The establishment is part of the School of Hotel and Restaurant so hopefully it will benefit me and my future career in the long run. They are willing to work around my school schedule and they understand if I am not available to work.
Shirley Burt is still here with us for only a couple more days. She moves in to her own place this weekend. I think she's ready to be able to completely get her bearings after being here for almost three weeks. Having her around has been a blessing. She's been able to help watch the kids for a few from time to time if need be and I think the kids have gotten used to her being around. Keep her in thoughts and prayers though, the transition from her job in California to here hasn't been as easy on her as she would have liked. Lots of differences for her to get used to even though she's technically in the same position.

This week at OSU is homecoming week, so there are many events and things going on this week. Last night was the Harvest Carnival, so we decided to take the kiddos. It was indoors so the weather wasn't a problem. I think Audri had a really good time. There were many little kid activities for her to participate in, but being shy as she can be sometimes, it took her a while to get into it. After she got warme up and realized that every time she played a game she got to get a prize or candy, she wanted to go all over the place.

She enjoyed being the in ball pit and for some reason didn't want to get out. :) The goal of the game was to find two rubber ducks that had a matching image taped to the bottom. She didn't really care about accomplishing that, she wanted to play. But we made it through that game and went over to the "plinko" booth. The game board was set up very similarly to the actual game from the Price is Right show and think she really enjoyed that game. She played it twice and walked away with at least 5 pieces of candy. She wasn't ready to move along! The coolest game I thought they had was a save Pistol Pete game. They built it to resemble the game Operation, but with Pistol Pete. They had the "tweezers" and the lights and everything. It was a little bit more of a mature game for her, but she found it to be cool anyway.

Well, I guess that fills you in on us for now. I hope to get some more stuff posted soon. Love you all!
