We're Moving!!

This move is number nine, yes I said NINE, in the six years that Allen and I have been married! So some of you may already know that we are leaving the city for the "country" life. We have just recently found a new house to move to in Perkins (north of the city and east of Guthrie) so we can be closer to school for me. Although the way we've come to this point in our lives (i.e. Allen losing his job a little over a month ago=pure drama with his former employer) hasn't made life very easy, but I'm thankful that he has a job lined up in Stillwater that allows us to move. I'm mainly stoked about not having to commute back and forth any longer.
This is a few pictures of our new house. Nothing incredibly fancy, but we love it. I haven't quite figured out what that ring in the middle of the front yard is all about...maybe this is an alien frequency spot! :) I was standing in the street when I took this, and I stood there for about five minutes with no sight or sound of any car or anything coming down the street. We will be in the middle of no where I tell you!! Although moving is lots, and I mean lots of work, we figure it will be well worth it in the end. The kids can go outside and play more "freely" (not that they couldn't before, but there's just something about being in the country that makes it feel a little safer). Our yard isn't fenced, other than the barbed wire fence that holds in some cows in the back. I think Audri is going to love being able to see cows on an almost daily basis. Ean is already turning into a "country" boy. He was all over the place running around and getting into things, without any shoes on and it didn't phase him a bit. I definitely think and feel that we are going to be happy here for the two years or so that we will be here. Lord willin' we will not move until I finish school and have a job!! The goal is to be done between two to two and a half years from now. I'm taking a few more classes this semester than originally planned when I was going to be commuting. It's hard to commute, on me, on the kids because they are in daycare for nine hours or so at a time, and Allen didn't really like the idea of me having to do it any longer. As hectic and unhappy we were when he first lost his job, I really feel as though this is where we are supposed to be at this point and time in our lives. It is hard to leave everyone in the city, but I've always wanted to see how we would do "on our own" without others to depend on all the time, and I guess this is what we're going to get. Wish us luck!

  1. Allen, Krys, Audri, & Ean,
I remember the first time being on my own as well. It was in Hays Kansas, summer of '76. I realized it so much then that I can really feel it all over again given some alone time. I felt a little scared but somehow knew this is what life was meant to be. I had left the comfort of 'home' or 'the nest' as one sometimes hears. I had already been doing my own laundry since sixth grade so what was all the fuss or worry?! But in reality, it was the best for me and I am glad you Krys, my lovely daughter, have the right attitude for the right path you have chosen. I love you dearly and pray for you and your precious family more than you know.
Continue your efforts and journeys knowing full well our Lord has given you the strength and courage to always do what is in your heart.
Allen, stay strong and keep getting up to go to work. Don't think about the next forty years or more in which you get to do this. I said stop!
Audri, I miss your crazy hair! Let Lynnn and me know when you're ready to spend the night.
Ean, I see shades of Krys and myself when we were younger in your smile and facial expressions. I like watching your mouth just open up when looking for food. Can't wait to play catch in the years to come.
Lynn and I will always have your family in our minds, hoping and praying for love and togetherness. We will always be there for whatever you want to share.
    Lynn & Kilman
